One of Cornwall's oldest and most famous Inns, favourite haunt of locals, fishermen, artists and tourists all year round. Believed to date from about 1312 A.D., the Sloop Inn is situated right on the harbour front at St Ives with only a cobbled forecourt and road separating it from the sea. All of the beaches, shops and art galleries, including the Tate Gallery, are within easy walking distance.

The Sloop Inn, with its low open beamed ceilings and slate floors in the bars, has retained all of its charm and character from times long past.

The Public Bar with its famous long tables and benches is the favourite of fishermen and artists alike.

The Lounge and Cellar Bars are popular dining areas. A Collection of drawings by Hyman Segal hangs in both the Public and Lounge Bars, whilst the permanent exhibition by various artists associated with the St Ives School of Painting covers the walls in the Cellar Bar.

The Sloop Inn is well known for its wide selection of keg and traditional cask ales and is regularly selected to be one of the few Inns to appear in The Good Beer Guide. It has an excellent reputation for good food to suit all tastes and appetites, especially the locally caught fresh fish and shellfish, which has been acclaimed in the national press.

We now have wireless Broadband Internet connection throughout the bars and rooms.
